Healing Spirit Animal Wellness Center

The Healing Spirit Animal Wellness Center provides integrative medical care to cats, dogs and rabbits. Utilizing the benefits of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and homeopathy alongside conventional medicine, surgery and dentistry we are able to offer a multi-modal approach to wellness and healing. We are dedicated to delivering individualized care and formulating treatment options that best meet the needs of each patient.

We are pleased to announce that we have moved to our new location at 7650 Myrtle Ave. at the intersection of Old Arcata Rd. and the Indianola Cutoff (see map). Formerly Veterinary Housecalls, we have been in the process of transition from a strictly mobile to a primarily stationary practice for approximately 6 months. We realize that this has been disappointing to some people who have come to enjoy the convenience of mobile services. We too have enjoyed seeing our patients and their people in the comfort of their homes for over 10 years. As we strived to improve the quality of our care and meet the growing demand for services, it became apparent that we had to prioritize our goals. We realized that the tremendous time and energy involved in transporting a full service medical facility from one location to another could better be utilized elsewhere. By focusing our attention on the medical aspects of the practice we will now be able to expand the treatment options available and to serve a greater number of patients.

We are also very happy to welcome a new veterinarian to the practice. Dr. Desen Ertunc (pronounced R-toonch) is a recent graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She has worked with us as an assistant prior to attending veterinary school and shares our practice philosophy, with a strong interest in acupuncture and other complementary and alternative forms of therapy. Our support staff members include Vicky Sherwood, Bill Wood, Jessica McCollough and Forest Sariano.
